About Dr. Pedre

Dr. Vincent M. Pedre, President of Dr. Pedre Wellness and Medical Director of Pedre Integrative Health,  is a Board-Certified Internist in private practice in New York City since 2004.  His practice spans the scope from Western medicine (his affiliation with Mt. Sinai Medical Center) to Eastern philosophy (his certification in yoga and acupuncture). His unique combination of medicine is best described as integrative or functional/systems-based approach to health.  With his understanding of both sides of the equation, he can help the patient choose the best course of action for their ailment to provide both immediate and long-term relief.

Dr. Pedre’s goal of educating people about their health and expanding awareness of integrative/functional medicine has taken him beyond the bounds of his private practice from an appearance on the Martha Stewart Show, highlighting the Top Medical tests everyone should have, to features on SiriusXM Radio’s Doctor Radio, the Gary Null Show and guest blogs on Ecomii, a leading wellness blog platform.

PedreMD is a blog featuring functional/integrative medicine topics by Dr. Pedre.  “In this blog, I hope to provide the reader with a unique perspective on health issues — a point of view that broadens the traditional Western approach to empower each person to achieve their best health possible and increase their awareness of these topics.”  It will include the usual blog posts and videos featuring guests with inspired “conversations” about unique medical topics.  Dr. Pedre will seek to talk about topics that are both familiar and ones that may not be mainstream to increase awareness of the paths that lead to good health and inspire people to be their best and achieve their best health possible.

Dr. Pedre was born in Miami, Florida.  Always an overachiever, he turned away from a career as a concert pianist, where he excelled as a teenager, to become a doctor.   Dr. Pedre completed his premed training at Cornell University in 1995, where he was honored as a Cornell National Scholar, the highest honor given to entering freshmen, and attained a B.A. in Biology with Distinction in all subjects, graduating Phi Beta Kappa.  He went on to receive his M.D. from the University of Miami School of Medicine in 1999, which he attended under a scholarship awarded by the Board of Trustees for his achievements as an undergraduate and future promise as a doctor.  Upon graduation from medical school, Dr. Pedre’s training and aspirations brought him to New York City, where he completed a residency in Internal Medicine at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in 2002.  Since then, he has also completed additional training in Medical Acupuncture and a Yoga-teacher training program.
